Scale by Author.Inc

Turn your book into clients.

Scale is the twelve-month program that puts your book in the hands of the people who can hire you, then turns those conversations into signed clients. Manuscript, launch week, or years on the shelf.

Attention after launch
Clients from a book that keeps working
LaunchMonth 3 · the quietMonth 12

You spent a year building an asset. Most authors use it for two weeks: a launch, a burst of posts, a few podcasts, then the quiet. The attention curve falls off a cliff by month three. The book is still the best sales letter you will ever write. It just needs someone to keep putting it in the right hands.

Introducing Scale

The program that puts your book to work for your business.

Publishing helps you sell the book. Scale helps the book sell you. Over twelve months we put your book in front of the people who can hire you, fix anything that would make them hesitate, and build the systems that keep producing clients after we leave.

These results came before Scale existed. Scale is the system built from what produced them.

Client results

Craig Gauthier raised his speaking fee 50%. The book did the selling.

Craig built and sold a technology company and has advised leaders at Microsoft, Disney, and the NHL. Rules: Optional went into readers' hands through his clients and referrals, with no ads and almost no social media: more than 4,500 copies, roughly 2,000 of them pre-sold. Clients accepted the new rate without negotiating, many ordered bulk copies, and he is on pace for $1M in revenue in his first year.

How it works

Here's how it works.

Everything is geared around helping you land more clients and get more opportunities. The first thirty days are the audit and the fixes, so nothing you send a prospect to makes them hesitate. Then the campaign starts. Then we scale.

Week one, both tiersYour 12-month content vault atomizing your book into a year of posts, newsletters, and talk outlines, ready for your final touch.

Would a dream client hesitate? We find out, fix it, and sign off the plan before a single book goes out.

1.2
Run the Authority Audit

Website, offers, pricing, social, content, and the path from book to business, read the way a prospect reads it.

1.3
Fix What Matters

The 80/20 repairs that would cost you a client, made now. Bigger builds get a vetted vendor and a scope.

Months 2 to 6

Your network first, then the hundred people who matter most. Things that do not scale, done well, before anything that does.

See the four modules+
2.1
Own Your Premium Pricing

Offer, price, and entry points set so a $25,000 conversation is the obvious next step after the book.

2.2
Reach Your First Ten

The first ten books go to a small, hand-picked batch of warm prospects: handwritten note, personal follow-up, one conversation at a time, before anything goes wide.

2.3
Run Your Book-to-Client Campaign

The people who should know your book, researched one by one, each reached with a package built to be impossible to ignore.

2.4
Turn Interest Into Deals

Follow-up sequences, inquiry handling, and a CRM you approve, so a reply becomes a call and a call becomes a client.

03
Scale What Works
Months 6 to 12

Whatever produced clients gets multiplied. The engines you keep after us turn on last, once there is a pulse to point them at.

3.1
Refine & Repeat What's Working

What worked in step two gets measured and multiplied. What did not gets cut.

3.2
Deploy Your IP Internally

The book becomes onboarding, sales enablement, and training for your own team.

3.3
Sell One-to-Many

Stages, workshops, and a keynote built from the book, so one hour in a room produces several conversations.

3.4
Build Your Content Machine

Your book and your calls become weekly content and one to two videos a week, running on your accounts.

3.5
Turn On Your Podcast Pitcher

Target list, pitches, and outreach automation. Yours to keep, and good at it fast.

3.6
Prove Your Client Engine

The year closes on a documented system that produces clients, and a decision about what comes next.

In practice

What the campaign looks like for one author.

Ricardo Arcia runs Teravision Technologies and wrote The Cognitive Leader for the CTOs he wants to work with. Phase two, for him, is a hundred packages like this one.

01
The person

One of a hundred names chosen on purpose: a leader who fits his bullseye client and can hire him.

02
The package

A copy of the book and a one-page letter in his own voice, shipped in a box built for his brand.

03
The ask

Fifteen minutes. A code that lands on his calendar. The conversation is the goal; the client is the result.

Then the replies come back, and phase three multiplies whatever worked.

Meet your guide

Charlie Hoehn has spent fifteen years scaling author businesses.

Charlie is a four-time New York Times bestselling editor. He rebuilt Codie Sanchez's Main Street Millionaire from the ground up, worked with Noah Kagan for more than a decade on the way to Million Dollar Weekend, helped Ramit Sethi's I Will Teach You to Be Rich to helped Ramit launch this book to #1 Amazon most sold overall and become a New York Times bestseller, and guided Geoff Woods from first draft to $10 million in new business in a year. The books were the beginning. The speaking fees, the contracts, the memberships, and the clients were the point.

On Scale, he leads the weekly advisory call and meets you 1:1 at each milestone of the program: reading your outreach before it goes, pricing your offers, pressure-testing the next move, and telling you plainly when something will cost you a client.

Questions

The things people ask before they say yes.

How much of my time does this take?+

Scale asks for about two hours a week: the call, approvals on anything in your name, finishing the content drafts we hand you, and taking the conversations the campaign opens. Everything else is produced. If two hours a week is too much, the book will keep sitting there.

What if my team can't handle the last mile?+

That is our job. We build with you and send for you. If your team is thin, Scale is designed for exactly that.

Do I have to be on camera?+

You do not have to. The book-to-client campaign needs a book, a package, and a note. The content engine runs on your writing and your calls. Video is one to two a week when you want it, and zero when you don't.

My book came out years ago. Does Scale still work?+

Good. The audit starts wherever the book is. Most of the authors we talk to have a strong book and no client engine behind it, and that is exactly the gap Scale closes.

When does Scale start?+

Whenever you sign. If your book is already out, the audit starts the day we begin and the twelve-month program runs from there. If you are writing the book with us and want the two together, Scale kicks off when the manuscript enters editorial, so your positioning is fixed and the campaign is built by the time the book ships; that combined engagement is $180,000 and runs about eighteen months end to end.

What are approved costs?+

The physical things: books, boxes, shipping, and the production partner for video. Every cost is approved by you before it is spent. The campaign for 100 people typically runs $5,000 to $10,000 in materials.

What are the payment terms?+

Scale is $125,000 paid in full, or $20,000 to begin and $10,000 a month across the twelve-month program ($140,000). It is one program purchased in full; the payments are a plan, not a subscription you cancel.

What do I keep when it ends?+

Everything. The systems run on your accounts, in your name, with your logins. The relationships are yours. The content vault, the playbooks, the media list, the CRM, and the campaign materials stay with you.

How does the guarantee work?+

Twelve months is the engagement. If the new business Scale produces has not covered what you paid by the end of it, our fees stop and we keep working with you until it has. The guarantee applies to Scale, where our team runs the campaign with you.

Every author we work with earned their spot.
