Writing a book brings clarity. It brings structure. It brings the ability to communicate with others in a way that they can hear you. I'm sending a signal, and the people where that signal resonates are coming to me.

-JACK swift

Jack Swift learned to lead in environments where clarity and decision-making under pressure were critical. He graduated from West Point and served as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger. Then he spent more than two decades building companies across finance, technology, and AI, cofounding Pacific Current Group and later running TIFIN, an AI-native fintech platform. He sold one company to JPMorgan and helped build another, Vantage Discovery, that Shopify acquired within a year.

About two years ago, as the companies he led grew larger, Jack realized he was more drawn to a different question than to running any one of them. He had watched AI reshape what organizations needed from people. Machines were getting better at precision, speed, and scale. What remained distinctly human was the ability to sense what's emerging, to adapt, to create, and to lead with clarity when the ground keeps moving.

He had been teaching this to his teams and the boards he served for years. As he put it, "I couldn't find anybody advocating for the human. We're the ones building these machines, training them, tuning them. We're still in charge. Who's talking about that?" Writing a book was not something he ever planned to do, but the people he worked with kept telling him to package his insights. Eventually he agreed.

Jack came to us through a referral from another Author.Inc author, met with three publishing groups, and decided in four days. "This felt like the best fit," he said. "I'm very intuition driven. So I was like, let's go." He arrived with a draft in hand, and we moved from manuscript to finished book between September and January. The speed of the writing surprised him. What surprised him even more, however, was how much the act of writing sharpened his own thinking. It organized years of ideas into something other people could hold and act on.

He describes the finished book two ways: as a business card, and as a signal. "I'm sending a signal," he said, "and the people where that signal resonates are coming to me."

The result was Level 7 Leadership: The Blueprint for the Human+Machine Era, with cover endorsements from leaders including a former McKinsey and Bridgewater executive, a Duke professor and former Green Beret, and the CEO of Mobius Executive Leadership.

The book offers readers a way out of the fear that's defined most of the AI conversation. Instead of human versus machine, Jack makes the case for human and machine, where speed and scale belong to the technology and judgment, imagination, and presence remain the work of the leader. By the end of the first chapters, a reader feels less fear about being replaced and more clarity about what only they can do.

Jack now teaches the Level 7 framework from the stage, including a recent keynote to a room of top U.S. Chief Human Resource Officers. Readers act on it without prompting. The founder of a network of 500 high-growth companies read the book and passed it to his entire team, and about once a week a reader sends Jack a voice memo describing what it changed for them.

Jack is candid that mass reach isn't the goal. "Receiving and nurturing, that's what I want to do," he said. He's after the right readers, not the most.

Jack spent 20 years building the judgment behind Level 7 Leadership. The book is how he hands it to the people who need it.

On working with Author.Inc, Jack said, “Your team is very good at what they do. You guys are at the tip of the spear, and I’m excited for you to reshape this industry.”
